Hi, I'm Bennett Wallace and thanks for stopping by my site!

My parents say that they knew I had some unique rhythmic skills at the age of 18 months, believe it or not. I was mesmerized by watching my 7 year old sister whenever she would dance with her team. I would watch their performances, and by some incredible grace, I’d memorize it, and in my own toddler way - I’d perform it!

(My parents say it was pretty darn accurate too!)

At the age of three, I was doing impressive cartwheels and my mom was floored when another toddler mom pointed out the fascinating skill. My mom’s response was, “Oh wait. Don’t all three year olds do cartwheels?” At that point, she knew she also had a tumbler on her hands.

So at three years old, I joined an all boys hip hop class at a local studio. You can imagine the chaos that ensued with a bunch of 3 year old boys, so my parents pulled me out of that after a semester, since I was really one of the few boys actually listening and following the directions!

We then switched to another studio, where I did some more hip hop with older boys and my first recital performance was to “Ghostbusters”. I was hooked with being on stage. Hooked.

And in my free time, I didn’t play with toys. I danced. Nonstop. My parents joked that they wasted a lot of money on toys!

As time went on, I added more genres of dance, and actually wasn’t enjoying hip hop very much anymore. I was excelling at jazz though. Around the age of 6-7, I joined a competition team and performed with all females. We competed in jazz and tap, and I continued to flourish.

I also started competing in jazz duets with a couple of lovely ladies and we did really well.

The thought of competing in a solo entered my mind, and my parents said I was too young. They also didn’t want to put unnecessary pressure on me at such a young age. So we waited another couple of years.

Fast forward to one more studio change, where things took off! My parents finally agreed to a solo, and my very first dance was to “A Friend Like Me” in my blue shiny costume, with a super heavy genie bottle as a prop. I knocked my first solo out of the park! A pattern was beginning to develop, and it was that I was winning!

I also began duets with a new partner, and for about 3 years, we won first place over and over! We were unbeatable!

I added more group dances to my competitions, and I continued to work on my tumbling at home on the trampoline, or at the local gymnastic club every single week. I also found a talent and love for hip hop again, in addition to contemporary, jazz, tap, musical theater, and lyrical.

With my progressing tumbling skills, and my natural comfort on the stage, I started winning scholarships from different dance organizations, like TOP, Inaside Dance Studio in Chicago, and KAR.

I had once mentioned to my parents how I wanted to be a Pro Reveler one day around the age of 10-11. A visiting pro told me I had the stage presence, and now just needed to work on my technique. So after another year of more practice, my parents thought it was time to audition in the fall of 2022.

I was accepted as a 2023 - 2024 Pro Reveler at the age of 12. I began my tour with them in the summer of 2023. It was the most rewarding experience of my dance career thus far. I learned from the best, traveled to different cities, soaked up all that the experts have to say, and made incredible friendships.

In Spring of 2023, I made the Elkhorn High School Dance Team, and learned the value of teamwork and discipline. We traveled to Nationals in Orlando and placed 6th in pom, and 11th in jazz. That was an experience of a lifetime and I am honored to be joining EDT again for year two!

I can say without a doubt, that the stage is where I want to be, and I am working hard to make my lifelong dream come true.

Thanks for sticking around, and I appreciate your support.
